I’m Anthony Palicci. Scrittore della domenica — a Sunday writer — and a seven-day-a-week cyclist. This site is where I keep the things that don’t fit in an Instagram caption: bike checks, training camps, route guides, and the occasional overwrought meditation on why a bicycle is the best way to see absolutely anything.
I grew up in the Sierras in the ’90s — winters were for ski racing, summers for motocross. My idols weren’t celebrities or athletes with sneaker deals; they were Scott Schmidt and Mike Kiedrowski. That era, drenched in techno and aggressively neon everything, left permanent marks: a taste for loud gear, a need for speed earned rather than bought, and an enduring belief that happiness, earned through effort, is still the finest currency we have.
The bicycle eventually absorbed all of it. These days I ride and race everything with two wheels and no motor — road, gravel, and mountain, with results that occasionally surprise everyone including me: I’ve been showing up to the Sea Otter Classic for over twenty years, and in 2021 I finally won the Cat 1 singlespeed MTB race aboard a fifteen-year-old steel Sycip. I organize the Coast Ride, an annual January pilgrimage from the Golden Gate Bridge down the California coast, and every year I drag a group of friends to Spain for a training camp that is equal parts ritual, reprieve, and recalibration.
By trade I’ve spent two decades designing and building ecommerce experiences, which is why this site is simple, fast, and free of pop-ups begging for your email. When I’m not doing that, I’m doing this.
